Hello.

Welcome to Pivko Presents, a website where you can learn photography post-production and graphic design.

My name is Jon Pivko.

I am a freelance photographer, filmmaker and web designer from New Jersey, USA.  I started this website to share some of the things I have learned along the way.  I began learning photography on film when I was a kid, using disposable cameras and my mom's 35mm automatic camera.  One of my first projects was taking pictures of my friends in elementary school, and then cutting them out carefully with scissors to paste onto hand drawn illustrations.  The practice of manipulating and enhancing my captured photos has continued, except now instead of scissors and glue I use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.

Everything I have learned and share via Pivko Presents, I have taught myself by experimenting or seeking out the knowledge of those with more experience.  I do not presume to be an expert of any kind.  However, I do strive to provide top quality tutorials and products that can help others in their quest to learn and improve. Many of the images on this site are actual images I have captured running my photography business which is my full-time job.  I also make films, and believe storytelling to be my greatest passion.  Feel free to check out my other ventures below.

I would define creativity as the art of solving problems. No matter the medium, the process begins with a goal, and standing in your way is an obstacle that you must overcome to achieve it.  In the case of photography and photography post-production, that obstacle is usually a lack of technical knowledge that prevents us from successfully executing the idea we have in our minds. My sincerest hope is that this website gets you one step closer to removing these obstacles, so you can create more satisfying works that match your vision.
